Title: At the Movies - Reviews

Here is a place where you can discuss movies that you've seen recently, either new to theatres or old favorites.  Feel free to critique them and in keeping the AIRY theme, you can grade them using the Fujita scale (a rating system for tornados).  Don't forget to give a brief synopsis about the movie....but try not to use any spoilers, but if it is a MUST TELL, use the Spoiler Key found in your tool bar and let others decide if they want to view it or not .     www.imdb.com

I just saw a midnight showing of Twilight and I give this movie a DEFINATE F-5.  It was absolutely amazing and stayed pretty much with the book.  I am defianately beyond satisfied!

Robert Pattison as Edward Cullen was a DREAM COME TRUE!  I have to admit that I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of Kristen Stewart playing Bella Swan, but after seeing her performance tonight, I am now a fan!  The casting was phenominal, the sets were incredible....although I pictured the Cullen house to look different, more like an old style mansion rather than an ultra-modern house, but it worked.  I would not change a thing!  Run, don't walk to see this movie!

I hear that the rest of the series is already contracted to have screenplays written for them.  I can not wait to see how the rest of the series turns out...and if they too will stay true to the books.

I just watched 2012 on MegaVideo via surfthechannel.com. (If you go there to watch it, please note that they limit the amount of time that you can watch a video if you don't have a paid account - if that happens, just wait an hour - go do something else - come back, refresh and pick up where you left off). Beware, some of these videos may not be in English!

IMO, wicked special effects! I'm not sure which was more impressive - the mega earthquakes or the colossal tsunamis (they appeared to be bigger than what was in The Day After Tomorrow). Okay, have an exact number - guy said one of them was 1500 meters (1500 meter = approx. 16,145 feet). Hehe, I was curious ;)

I thought there was some interesting 'symbolism' for lack of a better word. But, I can't explain without spoilers (and we have no spoiler tag at the moment). From what I've read (the last time I checked that is), other reviews seem split down the middle as far as negative or positive comments/opinions. Don't know about the rest of you, but I like to be my own judge where that's concerned.

Well, I don't consider myself a critic - so I'm not going to comment on the acting. There were some funny parts (yes, you can hear people in the theater laughing in the background on MegaVideo links). It's not what I would call gory, so if you're in the mood for blood and guts, you'll be disappointed. The focus is mostly on the widespread destruction and families/people struggling to survive.

That all said, this song came to mind as I was watching...most of it seems to fit well.

Mudvayne: "Fall Into Sleep"

Dreams of earthquakes
Dreams of hurricanes
Dreams of pouring rain
Dreams of tidal waves...to wash us all away
Dreams of guns blazed
Dreams of fire rage
Dreams of swollen graves
Dreams of hollow pain
All gone

No more fallen
No more enemy
No more casuality
No more dream

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
I have a dream
But nobody cares
Nobody wants to listen

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
Hang on to a dream that nobody wants
Nobody cares anymore

Dreams of mourning grief
Dreams of disbelief
Dreams of tragedy
Dreams of our disease...to take us all away
Dreams of fidelity
Dreams of inner peace
Dreams of loyalty
Dreams of unity
All gone
All gone

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
I have a dream
But nobody cares
Nobody wants to listen

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
Hang on to a dream that nobody wants
Nobody cares anymore

The angels are injured
Fall with broken burning wings
Are we dead inside
Are we blind
We can't keep moving forward
Backwards with closed eyes
We're losing sight
All lost inside

No more fallen
No more enemy

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
I have a dream
But nobody cares
Nobody wants to listen

Fall into sleep
Fall into me
Hang on to a dream that nobody wants
Nobody cares
Nobody wants
Nobody cares anymore

All gone
All gone
All gone
All gone

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was AWESOME!!

Watched Brothers tonight at a friend's house.  Really good movie about a guy that goes over to Afganistan.  Can't really say more than that because I don't want to give too much away.  But the movie is about the military guy, his wife and 2 daughters and his brother.
